Silicon carbide is a non-metallic and non mineral product produced with quartz sand (SiO2) and anthracite or petroleum coke as basic raw materials at a high temperature above 1800 ℃. Due to different raw materials, black silicon carbide and green silicon carbide are different types.

Black silicon carbide is a non-metallic mineral product produced at a high temperature above 1800 ℃, using quartz sand (SIO2) and anthracite or petroleum coke (C) as basic raw materials.
Green silicon carbide is a non-metallic mineral product produced at a high temperature above 1800 ℃ with quartz sand (SIO2), petroleum coke (C) and sodium chloride (NACL) as basic raw materials.
Features of silicon carbide
Silicon carbide is characterized by high hardness, small expansion coefficient, high brittleness and good thermal conductivity. It is widely used in abrasives, grinding of electronic products, refractories, special ceramics, coating and plastic modification, grinding wheel production, cutting discs, auto parts, military aviation, etc.

Classification of Silicon Carbide Sand
Black silicon carbide sand can be used for grinding wheel, floor, welding wire, new wear-resistant and anti-corrosion materials, glass steel pipe, oilstone, lettering, sand blasting, casting materials, etc.
Green silicon carbide sand can be used for grinding wheels, silicon carbide rods, electric tools, welding materials, polishing materials, brake pads, glass fiber reinforced plastic tubes, grinding electronic materials, etc.
